  1. New VersCheck history
  2.  
  3. Begin at V 2.3 because in V 2.2 the guide was fixed for ATO
  4. translations. From this point, the history is this single file.
  5. All older informations are inside the VersCheck Guides.
  6.  
  7. Not every listed version was also released! But I uploaded them
  8. to my homepage or give them away for testing. The new version
  9. is only to define the exactly stand of programming to every
  10. time.
  11. It happens also that a new release come out and the program has
  12. the same version. In this cases any other part of the archive
  13. is changed. Most the MUIclassGuide or the HandlerGuide.

  19. V 2.14 / 23.11.1999 - AFD-COPYRIGHT included
  20.                     - Install-script:
  21.                       - translation of two added languages for france
  22.                         installation.
  23.                       - add AFD-COPYRIGHT in fileslist
  24.                     - Using Check_Your_System, selection "filerequester"
  25.                       do not work (illegal option). The reason, a bug in
  26.                       the getargs-parser. Changing -0l CLASS as last
  27.                       argument or put any char after l help. Like this,
  28.                       for example: -0ll CLASS.
  29.                       The problem in getargs is cleared. Also a lot of
  30.                       semilar problems without effect in the moment.
  31.                       The biggest problem is, that the functions was
  32.                       correct (now dobble checked).
  33.                     - Because trouble with the call of requester from
  34.                       reqtools.library the ppc-program versions has
  35.                       requestor=OFF as default. So I changed this now
  36.                       to asl.library (seems working). Only the HTML-
  37.                       ASK-request is not changed (coming soon).
  38.                     - The MUIClasses.Guide and the compare for the
  39.                       MUI classes know's now a faked version and the
  40.                       patched classes show'n a warning.

  43. V 2.13 / 20.11.1999 - This history is now hopefull better in layout
  44.                       und usage.
  45.                     - OS3.5 dosn't opened the catalog files. One
  46.                       problem was found in the locale initialisation,
  47.                       the other in the catalog source. Both corrected.
  48.                     - Add france language in the installerscript and
  49.                       also france guide and catalog to the archive.
  50.                     - mmu.library is now an official release. Look in
  51.                       the AmiNet, if you want or need more
  52.                       information.
  53.                     - A lot of bugs and problems in the install script
  54.                       corrected (nearly new written).
  55.                       All needed functions for automatic update in the
  56.                       future now included and tested.
  57.                     - New OS3.5 compatible icons.
  58.                     - Version of WB was wrong bevor (show's the kick
  59.                       version). First seen after install OS 3.5 here.
  60.                     - WARNING! Installation with InstallerNG v1.4
  61.                       crashed (guru). Will be cleared soon.
  62.                       The problem is, VersCheck writes the settings
  63.                       of the installations to disk and use them at
  64.                       later updates (you must nothing change!). But
  65.                       this causes an internal typeconfikt in the
  66.                       InstallerNG. Test with the original OS3.5
  67.                       and also the OS3.1/OS3.0 Installer.works fine.
  68.                     - Added new file xxxInfo to each list. The first
  69.                       reason ist, to make possible to identify the
  70.                       list and the version of the list. The second
  71.                       reason is, to show this info to the user.
  72.                       Important is: First line must be a AmigaOS
  73.                       like $VER line. The others are free.
  74.                     - New argument -! to show the xxxInfo as a
  75.                       requester.
  76.                     - New tooltypes:
  77.                       DISPLAYINFO show the xxxInfo file as requester.
  78.                       DIRSFILE activate the xxxDirs pathlist.

  81. V 2.12 / 17.11.1999 - Never offizial released, only for an ATO
  82.                       translators to check that all things working.
  83.                     - Fixed a problem with the Check_Your_System
  84.                       script. Since OS 3.5 the start by IconX crashes.
  85.                       Now the stack is set in the icon, not only in
  86.                       the script.
  87.                     - Because most 68k versions crashed after start
  88.                       I recompiled all. I think, one of the object
  89.                       files was bad.
  90.                     - Add czech catalog to the archive.
  91.                     - Add polski language in the installerscript and
  92.                       also polski guide and catalog to the archive.

  95. V 2.11 / 02.11.1999 - A mistake in the english locale and the internal
  96.                       english text corrected.
  97.                     - A lot of problems in the english and the german
  98.                       guides corrected.
  99.                     - Add new feature xxxDirs for multiple directory
  100.                       scan. This feature will be used if a xxxDirs file
  101.                       exists and the feature -0l or -1 upto -5 use
  102.                       a '*' in the argument, e.g. -1* or -0l* and so
  103.                       on. So the program can scan more as one directory
  104.                       at one programstart.
  105.                     - Add requestorsON/OFF for multi dir scan. Now the
  106.                       check for files can using a list of possible
  107.                       directory's. If the exists, they are scanned. If
  108.                       not, the entry is skipped, without error messages
  109.                       or "please insert volume ..." requester.
  110.                     - Various bugfixes.
  111.                     - New function make an internal selftest at start.
  112.                       If CPU and/or FPU at the system not match with
  113.                       the compiled code, VersCheck print out an error
  114.                       and stop immediatly bevor the CPU causes a trap
  115.                       (guru).

  118. V 2.10 / 30.10.1999 - Recompilation with a updated vbcc for WarpOS.
  119.                     - Added france language to the installerscripts
  120.                       and Check_Your_System_france (language are NOT
  121.                       added yet, it's only for testing).

  137.                       $VER-String. Special thanks to Thomas Richter for
  138.                       his help. VersCheck scans now 3 differnt ways to
  139.                       find the version. At the moment looks bad, but
  140.                       works right (and better as bevor).
